to get your very own Ian. seriously, this is a need to know piece of information I just have to have. why, why, why aren't there men like this dispersed liberally throughout the world so everyone can have an Ian. I am serious. after I read the Kerr chronicles (both books a must because you don't want to miss any of Ian and tiny) I gave it a while before I wrote the review to decide if there has ever been a more PERFECT hero than Ian, and guess what, he is it. kid you not, that man cannot be replicated either in writing or dreams or real life...just not possible. if there is could some one capture him, shoot me a text, and wait for me to come get him. don't laugh. this is serious.ok, I'll be serious, not that I wasn't before, Jen Frederick hit it out of the stratosphere with this series. kid you not hands down gone, out of here, left the building with perfection. I loved me some heroes in the woodlands series, I mean who wouldn't love those sexy marines, but then she had to introduce us to Ian, and boom....every book, every hero, every storyline, every love scene, every first encounter, every happy ending, every tender moment, every touch, every kiss, every look.....EVERYTHING in the Kerr chronicles was hands down PERFECTION. blew every romance novel or love story known AWAY.
Jen, I love your mind and brilliance. you can take a mere mortal man hero in a romance book and make him a god unto us all that we ALL should worship. your books should have alters built to them, or at least your HEROES should have, but with the Kerr chronicles let's just go for the series. how do you do it. I mean I'm 47 years old and have seen and met and fantasized about what would make the perfect man, and you just smoked them ALL, and there have been A LOT. well I couldn't have you taking all the cred for Mr. perfecto, so I just conjured up Mr. Ian Kerr, god among everything, and added tattoos...so HA. now he's PERFECT. ok that was lame. you had Ian perfected the first time. but just so you know at night when I'm having naughty fantasies and feeling EXTRA NAUGHTY I'm thinking if Ian Kerr...with tattoos.
I may sound crazy in this review, but I just have been avoiding my return to reality after reading the KERR CHRONICLES BY JEN FREDERICK. if you go right now and buy this series then you can join my crazy too. I am not just suggesting or encouraging you to read the Kerr chronicles.....no......I am demanding that you buy this series, right now. do not hesitate. kick everyone out of your reading place, lock the door, turn off any outside interference, grab some wine, extra panties optional (ok clothes optional), and just get LOST in Ian Kerr..
this starts with book one, losing control then goes into taking control, and you will not want to miss a minute of either book. people I am being serious here, Jen Frederick must have her own island where she can write romance for us 24/7. she deserves it after this delivery. awards or accolades of any kind aren't enough for what she deserves creating this storytelling. just not enough words or time to describe this creation.
I don't impress easily anymore when reading because I easily read 25 plus books a week. so when a series like this gets to me this much I know it will be a long time before I fall for books like these two again. really I wanted to Google a way that I could leave this world and just step into the pages of the Kerr chronicles and continue life with Ian and Victoria. I cried at the end of this book harder than I have shed tears for any other book....because it ended. I was so sad because there were no more words. so Jen Frederick, would you please, pretty pretty please, give us a follow-up. let us catch up with Ian and Victoria. let us know how they are doing. you did it in the woodlands series with that little bit of extra for unspoken, well I want that......just way longer. I think after a weekend with these two books I am going to have withdrawal, so I really need you to start working on that project soon.

Ian is it, he's beyond bbf, he's Book Husband. I loved Tiny just as much and let me just say that I am so sad their story is over, give me a novella please...Christmas with the Kerrs?
His love and fierce possessiveness never comes off as anything but true adoration he has for Tiny. It is well written and one of my favorites by Jen Frederick (and please I thought nothing could top Bo or Daniel), in fact this is just one of my favorites of all time. I keep going back to re-read. Ian is the perfect male, a little sweet, a lot sexy and perfectly dirty! JF always writes men I love and strong, active, capable women.
The two of them are lonely and at last they found each other and it seems neither one is letting go, thankfully. They have a lot to get through, "salacious scandal and old rivalries".
I love a dual pov because I love hearing the male perspective but to basically get this whole book, save a few parts, from Ian's pov was a treat.
"I turned you down, I asked you to dinner. I wanted to date, not buy you." "What's all this, then? My clothes? This home? The driver?" She waves her arms around, trying to gesture at everything. "Its me loving you" I roar.
I have so many parts of this book highlighted its ridiculous. It is a great continuation to LC and does not disappoint with the suspense and drama. Love that there's always a very intelligently written subplot in her stories, I don't know how she knows so much about everything! 5 stars, highly recommend, go read now!!!

Lovely end to the story. This book was told mainly from Ian's POV, which at first was a tad weird, but evened out nicely. The pace was steady as we got to finally see more of the business aspect of Ian's world. I felt satisfied overall with the ending of hoses storyline. Malcolm and Mitch were a bit anticlimactic in my opinion.. There was a heavy onslaught of relations between Tiny and Ian (not bad, but parts did give a slight nudge of Ian leaning closer to the obsession side of the spectrum rather than love)
As I said, lovely end.
I do wish there had been more insight into Steve. Lol. Can't help but love the mysterious silent type.
Holy Comoly, what an ending to this fantastic story. Jen Fredrick outdid herself in Taking Control. I laughed, I cried, I felt each and every emotion possible. I am completely in love with Ian Kerr. If I could take him home for myself, I would.
I seriously love the world Jen Fredrick created in this story and can't wait for more! The minor characters had just and impact on the story as the main ones.
Well Done Jen Fredrick!
PS - Jeremy York and Kate Waldren were fantastic narrators. They only added to Jen Fredrick's brilliance. I never wanted this book to end.
This is a pretty good sequel to the first book, LOSING CONTROL. I liked the characters in the first book, and I loved them in the second book. The peripheral characters are great, too. Some thoughts that might be helpful
1. Book two starts slowly. Really slowly. But stick with it. Around 25-30% it gets good.
2. This second book has more story. Suspense, intrigue, and some action really keep a reader involved. I liked that a lot.
3. The sex is weird. Not kinky weird. The H, Ian, likes to talk dirty, so far so good. But he has these long soliloquies of sex talk. Huge paragraph chunks of sex talk. It was so much, it wasn't sexy anymore IMO. But there is plenty of sex.
4. It's a common trope that's been done almost too much, but this one is done well and absolutely better than many. Read the first book before reading this one. There is no cliffhanger in book one, but this was definitely a nice sequel and wrap up.
